Gray Warriner continues his outstanding Ancient America video series with a focus on the country’s most popular prehistoric ruin. Mesa Verde seems as though it were made for the camera, and the superb photography of cliff dwellings doesn’t disappoint. But Warriner goes beyond pretty pictures, placing Mesa verde in context of the Anasazi world and the much larger, more elaborate ruins of the Montezuma Valley below. Footage of modern Pueblo activities helps bring back a flavor of the ancient ones. The video is an outstanding introduction to the Southwest’s most renowned culture.
