Presenter bio: Professor of History and Environmental Studies, Fort Lewis College; Editor, Preserving Western History; The Last Stand of the Pack: A Critical Edition; and Outdoors in the Southwest: An Adventure Anthology, which celebrated the 50th anniversary of the Wilderness Act; (recipient Arizona/New Mexico Book Award); The Woolly West; Colorado’s Hidden History of Sheepscapes; Sacred Objects and Sacred Places: Preserving Tribal Traditions; Boomtown Blues: Colorado Oil Shale, 1885-1985 (winner, Colorado Book Award); and America’s Country Schools. Gulliford is widely known for teaching popular courses on wilderness, national parks, Western history and environmental history.
