V. Marek-Martinez), ‘Engaging Archaeology as Social Justice for Navajo Communities’ in From the Trowel to the Trenches: Archaeology as Social Activism’, (C.P. Barton, ed.);  Political/social ideals that shape her career include: social justice, inclusion & equity for Indigenous and other marginalized people. Her research and teaching focus on facets of Indigenous perspectives in archaeology and anthropology.
