The Archaeological Conservancy’s Midwest Regional Director Lindsay Scott joined the team in December 2024 and will continue to preserve and manage existing Conservancy sites across 10 states as well as pursue potential acquisitions of sites with archaeological and historical value for permanent preservation and future research. Lindsay is a Registered Professional Archaeologist with years of experience as a principal investigator at cultural resource management firms and in educational outreach, interpretation, and curation.
Lindsay holds a master’s degree in anthropology from the University of Montana, Missoula. She brings a broad perspective and practical knowledge from her fieldwork experience in Canada, Ireland, and 10 U.S. states, as well as her training on the National Environmental Policy Act and Section 106 of the Historic Preservation Act of 1966. She is a White Earth Nation Ojibwe descendant, and it is her Anishinaabe ancestry that piqued her interest in archaeology and preservation—specifically, pre-contact archaeology. She is from central Minnesota and enjoys gardening and raising chickens.
