After several years of successful fund-raising and site acquisitions it was time for the Conservancy to establish regional preservation efforts. In 1987 the first regions to be established were the Southwest and Midwest. Then, in 1991 the Western Region was set in motion. The Southeast followed suit in 1993, and then finally the Eastern Region in 1997.
